The Pain Reset Neurology Series involves the synthesis of over 31 years of combined clinical practice experience in neurology, biomechanics, and rehabilitation.

The Carrick Institute Pain Reset Neurology Series is taught with a condition-centered approach. This crucial curriculum closely examines the interplay and biomechanics of the individual’s nervous system, so as to allow for increased accuracy in assessing and treating pain.

How we stand and move throughout our environment is the product of our neurology and biomechanics. Abnormalities in how these systems function and integrate can produce biomechanical faults which may manifest as painful syndromes. Participant practitioners in this seminar will come away with an increased understanding of neurological & biomechanical dysfunctions often associated with specific musculoskeletal conditions, and a firm understanding of the effective “neurological resets” to correct them.

This program is an intensive hands-on event.  The Pain Reset Neurology Series moves beyond just making an appropriate diagnosis, but rather focuses on how to get the patient out of pain as quickly and effectively as possible using a neuro-biomechanical model.

Gait abnormalities can often promote your patient’s musculoskeletal conditions. Fixing gait is one of the most efficient ways to get your patient out of pain and to reinforce the positive changes you are creating.

This seminar focuses on the most common gait abnormalities and how these influence the development and maintenance of various musculoskeletal disorders.

As a participant, you will learn about the influences of higher brain centers on promoting gait abnormalities. You will learn how the proprioceptive, vestibular and visual systems influence gait and how dysfunction in those systems promotes abnormal gait patterns. 724 Manual Therapy Reset: A Brain-Based Approach

Manual therapeutics are one of the quickest and most effective ways to change the function of the neuro-biomechanical system. It has been our experience that most practitioners apply manual therapies using a purely biomechanical model. By updating one’s paradigm for applying these techniques, one can achieve improved clinical outcomes.

From an anatomical and neurophysiological standpoint, it is impossible to achieve maximum human stability and performance with the presence of neuro-biomechanical dysfunction. The Manual Therapy Reset Brain-Based Approach  Seminar incorporates the unification of theories in the areas of the vestibular, visual and proprioceptive systems into a systematic manual therapy approach that will maximize the results of any practitioner.

This module moves beyond just making an appropriate diagnosis, but rather focuses on how to get the patient out of pain as quickly and effectively as possible using a neuro-biomechanical model.

  1. The basics behind articular neurology and its clinical relevance.
  2. What is really needed for joint stability to occur?
  3. How the interplay between the proprioceptive, vestibular and visual systems promotes joint stability
  4. The interrelationship between nociceptors and mechanoreceptors and how an imbalance disrupts proper joint stability and function.
  5. Master how to quickly identify areas of imbalance in the pro and anti-nociceptive systems.
  6. Master what is & how to identify areas of nociceptive sensitization.
  7. To understand the importance of coupled biomechanical movements of joints and how this impacts manual therapy strategies.
  8. Why some manual therapies are not appropriate for certain conditions.
  9. Manual therapies that are specifically used for situations where nociceptive sensitization has occurred.
  10. The influences of the semicircular canals on muscle activation and the following postural patterns:
