805 – Reflexogenic Systems: Cape Canaveral

December 21 @ 9:00 AM - December 22 @ 9:00 AM EST

$499 – $599

Presented by: Dr. Jessica Lofgren

Reflexes are the basic building blocks to all human movement and locomotion. They are critical to controlling and maintaining posture. Every manual technique involves observing reflexes and their influences on muscle activity. At its basic core, intersegmental joint dysfunction can be viewed as a breakdown in the normal reflex activity of the muscles of the spine. What is not so obvious to us is the influences higher brain areas in influencing basic local reflexes. These influences can be extremely profound and contribute to the maintenance of chronic asymmetries in the reflexogenic system that can lead to chronic conditions.

Have you ever observed a functional short leg get better after you treat it only to return the next time you see the patient? Or how about a head tilt that keeps coming back no matter what things you have tried on the patient. If you ever have been faced with these types of things, then this seminar is for you.

In this seminar you will learn:

  • How higher brain centers influence are most basic reflexes
  • How eye movements and eye reflexes influence postural and muscle reflexes throughout the body.
  • How vestibular reflexes influence spinal muscle tone and promote misalignments throughout the spine.
  • The importance of observing the presence of primitive reflexes. What they mean and what to do about them.
  • What the pupil light reflexes mean and tell you about higher brain function.

The teaching methodology at the Carrick Institute is a blend of theory and applicable skills in the clinical setting. Concepts are taught with supportive demonstrations and clinical mastery application opportunities   An active and conversational learning environment is encouraged where questions are asked and points of view are openly discussed. One’s mind is challenged with the presentation of modern paradigms to create the world’s best clinicians.
