Chronic pain is a prevailing health crisis affecting millions of people. It is essential for a practicing provider to understand current concepts of chronic pain and be trained to offer a treatment plan that addresses the various contributing factors that lead to persistent pain. This presentation will review the current understanding of chronic pain mechanisms and central nervous system pain pathways and offer an introduction to clinical applications for patients suffering from chronic pain.
